About the Role
As the Development Manager, you’ll lead our fundraising and development efforts, including our flagship events—the annual NAMIWalk (October) and Artful Minds Fundraiser (Mayg) . Reporting directly to the CEO, you will engage with donors, build community relationships, and manage dynamic fundraising initiatives, including grants and corporate sponsorships to increase resources available for mission-based activities that are free to the public, and to build a strong and diversified financial base for the organization. This role is ideal for an outgoing, driven self-starter who excels at collaboration and inspires others to join the mission.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with the CEO to design and implement innovative fundraising strategies.
Cultivate relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners to meet revenue goals.
Oversee peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns and secure corporate sponsorships.
Plan and execute major events, including logistics, venue selection, permits, and vendor coordination.
Recruit and lead a special event(s) committee to support fundraising efforts.
Drive engagement by elevating participant registration and team involvement.
Act as an ambassador for NAMI Broward County, representing the organization at networking events and public engagements.
Develop and maintain partnerships with civic, faith-based, and corporate organizations.
Recruit, train, and lead volunteers to support fundraising initiatives and events.
Foster long-term relationships with volunteers, ensuring their experience is engaging and impactful.
Collaborate with the team to enhance NAMI Broward’s social media presence.
Align digital strategies with the organization’s mission and goals to boost community awareness and donor engagement.
Maintain NAMI Broward’s website
- Database & Administration:
Maintain accurate donor records using CRM platforms (e.g., Bonterra, DonorDrive).
Track event progress and create reports for the CEO and Board Development Committee.
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, event management, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in fundraising or event planning preferred.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
- Proven success in securing corporate sponsorships and executing large-scale events.
- Experience with peer-to-peer fundraising platforms (e.g., DonorDrive) preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, and CRM software.
- A passion for mental health advocacy and supporting individuals affected by mental health conditions.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and thrives under pressure.
