Position Summary:
Coeur, Detroit Free Press’s Best New Restaurant of 2024, is located in Ferndale, MI. Coeur is a fine dining establishment that features what is known as California Cuisine with French tradition along with Asian and other techniques, rooted in the principles of sustainability, local community support, and exceptional hospitality. Our mission is to serve delicious food crafted from responsibly grown, locally sourced ingredients while celebrating the connection between food, community, and the environment.

We are seeking a General Manager to lead our front-of-house (FOH) team and oversee daily operations. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned hospitality professional who is passionate about food, wine, and service excellence. This role combines leadership, financial accountability, and the ability to foster an employee-focused and guest-centered culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership & Team Development:
• Build, train, and inspire a high-performing FOH team.
• Lead by example, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and positive energy.
• Conduct continuous training and development for all staff, ensuring adherence to Coeur’s standards and values.
• Guest Experience:
• Ensure an exceptional dining experience by maintaining service excellence and anticipating guest needs.
• Maintain patron satisfaction by monitoring, evaluating, and auditing food and beverage offerings
• Actively engage with guests to build relationships and gather feedback.
• Operations Management:
• Oversee daily FOH operations, including scheduling, floor management, and administrative tasks.
• Ensure physical space upkeep, from cleanliness to functionality, through regular inspections and preventative measures
• Collaborate with BOH leadership to maintain seamless service and communication.
• Maintains operations by preparing policies and standard operating procedures, aiming for consistent productivity and quality and troubleshooting operational issues
• Financial Management:
• Manage budgets, labor costs, and inventory.
• Monitor restaurant financials to ensure profitability and achieve sales objectives.
• Staffing & Recruiting:
• Spearhead recruiting efforts to attract talented professionals aligned with Coeur’s values.
• Conduct hiring, onboarding, and employee reviews while promoting retention and team satisfaction through strong communication and feedback.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of fine dining restaurant management experience.
• Strong knowledge of front of house operations including beverages, staff supervision, inventory and food safety
• Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of restaurant financials, labor management, and inventory systems, that lead to restaurant profitability
• Proficient in technology platforms such as inDesign, Microsoft Office, and POS systems.
• Knowledge of employment regulations and labor laws.
