Job Summary:
This leadership position is responsible for providing strategic and operational oversight of clinical nursing services, ensuring high-quality patient care, maintaining positive relationships with physicians and associates, and achieving departmental goals. This role also oversees patient care delivery, nursing standards, and compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and accountability for clinical service operations.
- Foster excellent physician and associate relations.
- Oversee quality, administrative, and financial outcomes for the department.
- Establish and uphold nursing practice standards.
- Planned, organize, direct, and evaluate departmental functions to achieve hospital and division goals.
- Manage nursing services in alignment with accreditation and regulatory requirements.
- Lead other collaborating departments as needed.
Scope of Role:
- Supervise up to 250 staff.
- Manage 4–6 direct leader reports and oversee 4–8 cost centers.
- Report directly to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)/Vice President of Patient Care Services.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- BSN and MSN are required.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive clinical leadership experience (acute care preferred).
- Active RN license in Kansas (unencumbered).
- Nursing specialty certification (to be obtained within 1 year of hire).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift/exert up to 50 lbs occasionally, 20 lbs frequently, and 10 lbs constantly.
