Job Details Jobot is partnering with a growing organization to staff a position as a Payroll Specialist. The Payroll Specialist duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed in this position. They are not intended to prescribe or restrict the assignments that management may make.
- Complete the entire payroll process ensuring checks are processed in accordance with company policy and state law when needed.
- Manage the timekeeping and Payroll systems to ensure the information is accurate and in alignment.
- Collect and verify timesheets.
- Maintain employee information and payroll data within the timekeeping and payroll systems.
- Process new employees, promotions, and terminations.
- Act as the first point of contact for employee questions relating to payroll.
- Have a strong understanding of state and local payroll taxes and set up new accounts as needed.
- Work with the payroll provider tax team to ensure the timely and accurate filing of all tax-related items.
- Respond to internal and external requests for payroll information as appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws as applicable.
- Assist the accounting department with month-end close when it pertains to payroll accounts.
- File worker’s compensation reports and tax reports for various states and districts.
- Complete year-end processing for payroll reporting and 401K contributions.
- Responsible for Payroll and 401K plan audits.
- Administer company PTO policy to include accruals and monthly reconciliations.
- Collaborate with the HR team to ensure all payroll deductions are accurate and timely.
- Process all certified payroll requests.
- Complete verifications of employment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
If you have at least 1 year of experience in full cycle, multi-state payroll processing, are a great team player with excellent communication skills, possess strong technical skills within payroll and HRIS systems, enjoy working in a fast paced, deadline driven environment, are eager to learn and work with a diverse team and have exceptional attention to detail while remaining confidential with a high sense of integrity.
