Job Description

The Richmond Flying Squirrels are seeking energetic, customer service-minded individuals to oversee the Fan Services booth at The Diamond. Fan Services Associates will staff the stadium's primary information hub and are responsible for accurately answering fan questions, welcoming contestants and guests for on-field activities, processing in-game announcements and swiftly responding to emergency situations. The ideal candidate gets enjoyment from interacting with people and is punctual and detailed-oriented with the ability to retain and relay information.
GAMEDAY DUTIES:

  • Arrive at least 30 minutes prior to gates opening
  • Open and set up fan services booth
  • Accurately answer fan questions or contact the appropriate team member for assistance
  • Greet contestants for on-field activities including first pitches, National Anthem performers and on-field promotions and notify appropriate team members
  • Process transactions for in-game announcements and accurately relay information to production team
  • Calmly respond to emergency situations and swiftly notify operations/RMC supervisors
  • Oversee lost and found items and report any items turned in at the end of each shift
  • Stay at least 30 minutes following the conclusion of each game
  • Shut down and lock fan services booth at the conclusion of each shift
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be available for at least 75% of Richmond Flying Squirrels home games (51 out of 69 total) which include nights, weekends and holidays
  • Strong communication skills and superior customer service skills
  • Ability to calmly but swiftly respond to emergency situations
  • Comfortable interacting with fans of all ages including children
  • Energetic, outgoing personality and positive attitude
  • Willingness to work in an outdoor environment with indirect exposure to the elements
  • CPR certification a plus
  • Local candidates only

COMPENSATION: $15 per hour
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The position is occasionally exposed to extreme heat and humidity and frequent elevated noise level
