Summary: Responsible for the production and assembly of components and structures using various materials, ensuring high-quality standards and adherence to specifications. This role requires expertise in fabrication techniques, machinery operation, and quality control processes. Also, responsible for operating and maintaining waterjet cutting machines to produce high-precision parts and components according to specifications. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical drawings.
Responsibilities:
- Develops layout and plans sequence of operations.
- Locates and marks bending and cutting lines onto work piece.
- Sets up and operates fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, hydraulic presses, saws, waterjet, and drill presses.
- Program flat patterns using the Flow Path/Cut software.
- Ability to create DXF files in AutoCAD.
- Operating the machine unattended, “Lights Out” mentality.
- Hammers, chips and grinds work piece to cut, bend and straighten metal.
- Designs and constructs templates and fixtures.
- Identify and pull appropriate materials used in the fabrication of parts.
- Verifies conformance of work piece to specifications.
- Organize workload to group like material requirements to optimize run time.
- Fabricates and assembles stainless steel products.
- Monitor performance of assigned machine and maintain as necessary, filtering water quality and sand.
- Identify and requisition consumables necessary to assure un-interrupted operation of machine.
- Identify and requisition spare parts and change parts to assure un-interrupted operation of machine.
- Actively participate in 5S program to maintain a highly productive environment.
- Observes all safety regulations and advises on safety hazards that exist.
- Maintains a clean work area, keeps equipment in good working order, and advises Supervisor of any required maintenance.
- Support special projects and other duties as assigned.
