Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and disciplined Senior Software/Systems Project Manager with a strong background in core project management methodologies and processes. The ideal candidate has 10–15+ years of project management experience within a formal PMO environment and is deeply versed in SDLC processes, budget management, timeline tracking, and KPI reporting. This role focuses on managing software or system upgrading projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with organizational goals.


This role is a consulting opportunity and has a hybrid work model in the Princeton, NJ area.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of software or system upgrade projects.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Track project KPIs, status updates, and progress reports to ensure accountability and transparency.
  • Organize and structure projects from initiation, ensuring disciplined workflows and methodologies are in place.
  • Manage risks, identify overdue tasks, and communicate cost implications of delays to stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, including 21 CFR Part 11 (preferred but not required).
  • Use project management tools like MS Project , Azure DevOps (ADO) , or JIRA for tracking and reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain alignment and achieve project milestones.
  • Proactively address project issues and implement corrective actions to bring initiatives back on track.


Qualifications:

  • 10–15+ years of hands-on project management experience within a formal PMO environment.
  • Strong expertise in core project management methodologies and SDLC processes.
  • Proven ability to deliver software or system implementation projects (2–3 years of implementation experience preferred).
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a disciplined approach to managing and structuring projects.
  • PMP certification or equivalent knowledge of PMP concepts is required.
  • Familiarity with 21 CFR Part 11 is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Experience with budget and timeline tracking, KPI management, and performance reporting.
  • Proficiency with project management tools like MS Project , Azure DevOps (ADO) , or JIRA .
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a focus on aligning project outcomes with business objectives.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance.
  • Experience in tracking and reporting cost implications of delays and overdue tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to implement creative solutions under tight deadlines.
