Role: Senior Data Analyst

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Data Analyst to manage and maintain our critical database environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in database management, performance tuning, and data security. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and scalability of databases, as well as supporting data integrations and reporting tools. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide solutions to database-related issues and enhance overall system performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Database Management and Optimization:

Administer and maintain databases such as Oracle DB, MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Snowflake.

Optimize database performance, implement indexing strategies, and fine-tune SQL queries for efficient data access.

Perform regular database backups, restorations, and disaster recovery operations.

Implement database security best practices, including access controls and encryption.

Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

Monitor database performance and resource utilization, addressing performance bottlenecks.

Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in production environments.

Collaborate with infrastructure teams to manage database resources and ensure high availability.

Database Architecture and Design:

Support database design, including schema, tables, and relationships, ensuring scalable and efficient structures.

Assist with the planning and implementation of new database systems or upgrades.

Work on database migration projects and ensure data integrity during migrations.

Integration and Data Pipelines:

Manage and optimize data pipelines and integrations, ensuring seamless data flow across systems.

Work with integration tools such as Talend to streamline data transfer and integration.

Coordinate with application teams to ensure proper data integration with business applications.

Reporting and Analytics Support:

Collaborate with business and analytics teams to support reporting tools like MicroStrategy and Power BI.

Assist in the creation of custom database views and stored procedures to support reporting and analytics needs.

Automation and Continuous Improvement:

Leverage automation tools to streamline database management tasks.

Continuously evaluate and improve database performance, security, and backup procedures.

Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in database administration.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

10+ years of experience in database administration and production support.

Expertise in database management systems (Oracle DB, MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Snowflake).

Proven experience with database optimization, tuning, and performance monitoring.

Experience in backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.

Familiarity with integration tools such as Talend.

Solid understanding of SQL, stored procedures, and database scripting.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Skills:

Certifications in database administration (e.g., Oracle DBA, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL).

Experience in database automation and performance monitoring tools.

Prior experience working with reporting tools (MicroStrategy, Power BI) is a plus.
