We have a fantastic full time career opportunity for a qualified PROJECT ENGINEER to manage our nuclear aftermarket pump projects in our corporate engineering department in the West Loop Chicago.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Initiation and Stakeholder Management

• Lead Kickoff Meetings : Facilitate project kickoff sessions to align teams, define objectives, and establish timelines.
• Identify Stakeholders : Determine all key stakeholders and conduct an analysis of their expectations and requirements.
• Develop Communication Plans : Create and implement strategies to keep all stakeholders informed throughout the project lifecycle.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Coordinate Project Reviews : Organize and lead project review meetings, ensuring collaboration across engineering, quality, operations, and sales teams.
• Manage Workflow and Scheduling : Oversee job statuses and scheduling to ensure projects progress according to plan.

Communication and Reporting

• Gather and Communicate Data : Collect relevant reports, data, and metrics to maintain transparency with stakeholders.
• Routine Updates : Present project progress to management and customers, ensuring alignment with goals and expectations.

Risk Management

• Identify and Mitigate Risks : Proactively identify risks, develop contingency plans for critical milestones, and track issues to resolution.
• Monitor Delays and Concerns : Continuously track risks, concerns, delays, and rejections, ensuring minimal disruption.
• Ensure the project remains within budget constraints.

Project Closure:

• Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned.
• Ensure all project deliverables are met and hand over to relevant teams or stakeholders.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION:

1. PMP Certification (Project Management Professional)
2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Projects for task management, scheduling, and reporting.
3. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering .
4. Minimum 5 years of industrial experience.
5. At least 3 years of experience specifically in project management.
6. Hands-on experience with pumps or rotating equipment is highly valued.
