Job Description

Join our Land Development team at Matthews | DCCM in our Jacksonville, Florida office for the summer of 2025, where you’ll be immersed in real-world projects, guided by experienced engineers, and empowered to make an impact.

As a Landscape Intern, you will assist in creating sustainable and aesthetically pleasing outdoor spaces for a variety of projects, including commercial, industrial, parks and recreation, and public developments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Development: Assist in creating conceptual and detailed landscape designs, including drafting, 3D modeling, and rendering using tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, or similar software.
  • Site Analysis: Conduct site visits to gather data, perform site analysis, and document existing conditions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with senior team members and clients to ensure the integration of design elements and project objectives.
  • Project Documentation: Support the preparation of technical drawings, construction documents, and specifications.
  • Research: Conduct research on plant materials, sustainable practices, and innovative design solutions.
  • Presentation Support: Assist in the preparation of presentations, renderings, and materials for client meetings or public engagements.


Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Landscape Architecture.
  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Rhino, or similar).
  • Basic graphic and visual communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of plant materials, irrigation design, and landscape construction principles.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Passion for sustainable and innovative landscape design.
