JOB DESCRIPTION:
- We are seeking a skilled AutoCAD Drafter to support our team.
- This role is essential to the success of the team, focusing on the design, creation of specification drawings, and maintenance of underground drawings, while ensuring strict adherence to departmental procedures.
- The Drafter 2 position requires 5-7 years of drafting experience.
- An associate’s degree in drafting and design is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and create engineering drawings using AutoCAD to support the Network Underground Design Engineer and the Test Group.
- Maintain and update GIS data and underground drawings, ensuring data accuracy and adherence to operational standards.
- Work closely with the engineering team to develop and refine designs and drawings.
- Implement drawing methodologies and project priorities as directed by the Project Manager.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously under the guidance of the Design Engineer.
- Adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks based on evolving project demands.
- working with 2D and some 3D CAD to develop models and/or 2D drawings based on information provided by designers and engineers, revising existing 2D drawings to support plant retrofit projects, assisting with plant-site walkdowns to obtain field data and dimensional information for design purposes.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with AutoCAD, with a strong focus on AutoCAD 2D design.
- GIS experience is preferred, but not required.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team, working closely with engineers and technicians.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and manage deadlines in a high-demand environment.
Work Environment:
- In-office availability for at least four days per week is required, with the option to work remotely one day per week.
- Work as part of a small, collaborative team, engaging with engineers and technicians on a variety of projects.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience producing underground utility drawings or similar technical designs.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD with a willingness to learn GIS systems, if not already experienced.
- Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate and collaborate with team members.
