Required Skills & Experience
- 5-15 years of relevant electrical engineering experience
- Active Professional Engineering (PE) license
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering
- Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes is required
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
- Experience with/understanding of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Experience with power analysis software preferred, i.e., SKM, EasyPower, etc.
- Willing to work both independently and in a team environment, both in person and virtual
- Able to effectively prioritize multiple tasks and make independent decisions that promote/advance the company goals and objectives
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Project management experience a plus, but not required
- Experience with USACE or other federal or local government agencies preferred, but not required
Job Description
An employer who is an industry leader in the engineering and consulting industry is looking to hire a mid-senior level Electrical Engineer that will work remotely and support multiple ongoing top priority USACE projects, including rehabilitation of inland navigation lock and dam systems, design of new navigation locks, and coastal protection projects.
In this role, you will design industrial and heavy civil electrical systems including power distribution, emergency power, grounding, lighting, lighting protection, fire alarm, security, closed circuit television, telecommunications, computer network, remote monitoring, and control systems. You will evaluate existing electrical systems and provide design recommendations, Prepare technical specifications, engineering reports, and calculations. You will perform quality control checks of design submittal documents
This is a 6 month contract-to-hire job opportunity.
Starting Pay Range: $65-$75, potential for flexibility depending on candidate experience.
