Position: Jr. Electrical Controls Engineer

Location: Hartford County, CT 5x a week

12 month contract + extensions to hire

Pay Rate:$28-40/hr depending on experience

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Junior Electrical Controls Engineer to join our Electrical and Controls Engineering team. This entry-level role focuses on designing and implementing control systems for power generation equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in PLC programming and controls, with the opportunity to develop skills in the power generation industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in designing and implementing PLC-based control systems for power generation equipment.
• Support the creation of reliable and secure instrumentation and control solutions for generating stations.
• Work closely with senior engineers to learn industry best practices and improve system designs.
• Contribute to projects ranging from small upgrades to large power plant constructions.
• Assist with troubleshooting and maintenance of control systems in power plants.

Must Haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 1+ years of experience with PLC programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens S7, or similar).
• Familiarity with control systems and electrical systems in industrial settings.
• Ability to learn and adapt to new software and engineering tools.

Preferred:

• Knowledge of steam/gas turbine systems and power plant operations.
• Understanding of ANSI, IEC, IEEE, and SIL standards is a plus.
