About the Job: As the Procurement Specialist - you will be part of a dynamic, growing company. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the company's procurement activities, including implementing and maintaining procurement policies, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with federal and corporate regulations. You will play a crucial role in optimizing our supply chain and supporting our company's growth through effective procurement strategies

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company objectives and federal regulations

• Manage the full procurement lifecycle from requisition to payment, ensuring compliance with company policies and federal requirements

• Lead vendor selection processes including RFP development, bid evaluations, and contract negotiations

• Conduct cost and price analyses for procurements exceeding the Simplified Acquisition Threshold

• Maintain detailed procurement records and documentation for audit purposes

• Ensure compliance with federal regulations including 2 CFR 200 requirements when applicable

• Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and contractors

• Implement and monitor procurement performance metrics

• Lead initiatives to optimize procurement processes and reduce costs

• Coordinate with various departments to understand and fulfill procurement needs

• Manage and mentor procurement team members

• Drive continuous improvement in procurement practices and procedures

Minimum Requirements

• Procurement Experience - Minimum of 3+ years of procurement experience, including demonstrated success in managing complex procurement processes and vendor relationships. Experience with federal procurement regulations is a must

• Contract Management - Proven experience in contract negotiation, administration, and management. Experience with various contract types including fixed price, time-and-materials, and cost-reimbursement contracts

• Compliance Knowledge - Strong understanding of federal procurement regulations, particularly 2 CFR 200 requirements and FAR principles. Experience ensuring compliance with government regulations in procurement processes

• Educational Requirements - BS in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Professional certification (CPSM, CPIM, or similar) preferred

• The ideal candidate can handle the high paced environment of a disruptive startup but can also understand the mindset of cost-conscious commodity manufacturing operations

Compensation: $75,000 - $95,000 salary

Work Style: Hybrid/Remote Possible (Company based in Buffalo, NY with plans for national expansion)
