The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for enhancing the organization’s learning experiences by integrating operational systems expertise, supporting onboarding processes, and aligning learning initiatives with business objectives. This role focuses on operational systems expertise, onboarding support, and strategic alignment with centralized business groups to enhance the effectiveness of L&D programs across the organization.
Reporting to the Manager or Sr. Manager, Learning and Development, the Specialist will collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver systems training, design instructional materials, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. By integrating national L&D programs, this role aims to optimize learning outcomes and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Operational Systems Expertise:
- Serve as a subject matter expert in company operational systems (e.g., property management software, LMS, and other business tools).
- Provide training and support to help employees effectively utilize these systems.
- Proactively identify and address gaps in system utilization across diverse employee groups, including those with limited computer access, by developing alternate training delivery methods
- Ensure system-related training materials are accurate, up-to-date, and accessible.
- Design and deliver resources to help employees adapt to new tools, processes, or systems.
Onboarding Support:
- Partner with HR and hiring managers to enhance onboarding resources and processes to ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new employees.
- Support expansion markets by tailoring onboarding materials and resources to meet local needs.
- Act as a resource for managers and other employees to help them navigate onboarding tools and best practices.
- Continuously monitor onboarding programs to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Create onboarding solutions tailored for non-traditional learners, such as mobile-friendly or offline resources, to support equitable access for all employee demographics.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as a primary liaison with centralized business groups to ensure alignment and support for individual needs along with national L&D initiatives.
- Support regional and expansion market initiatives by providing tailored resources and expertise.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment in systems training and support.
Instructional Design:
- Develop and design effective, engaging, and learner-centered training materials, courses, and programs for both virtual and in-person delivery.
- Research, pilot, and implement alternative learning modalities (e.g., mobile learning, gamification, or microlearning) to engage diverse employee populations, particularly those with limited access to traditional learning methods
- Develop and maintain templates for learning materials such as slide decks, participant guides, and facilitator notes to ensure consistency in presentation and delivery.
- Develop and update official learning materials, such as handbooks, workbooks, presentations, and digital resources, ensuring consistency and alignment with learning objectives.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure the proper structuring and formatting of materials that are both visually appealing and effective for learning.
- Design training programs that support compliance, customer service, and sales excellence, tailoring content to the specific needs of the property management industry.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of experience in learning and development, systems training, or related roles.
- Proficiency in learning management systems and digital learning tools (e.g. Articulate).
- Strong presentation skills and excellent abilities in facilitating in person and virtual meetings and workshops
- Strong project planning and management skills
- Problem-solving abilities with a focus on process improvement and innovation
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt to evolving business needs and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong collaboration skills and excellent communication skills required; with the ability to make high quality decisions.
- Strong computer literacy is required
- Must be able to travel up to 20% of work schedule
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
