About the Company:

Our client is a large healthcare system that provides hospice care services across multiple facilities in the region. They are committed to providing high-quality care to their patients and are seeking a Hospice Billing Specialist to join their dedicated team. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity with the potential for permanent placement.




About the Role:

As a Hospice Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for handling billing processes for Medicare and Medicaid patients, including submitting claims, tracking eligibility, and ensuring the accurate and timely submission of Notices of Election. You will collaborate with leadership and other departments to ensure proper billing practices are followed.




Responsibilities:

  • Update and maintain billing information in WellSky, including facility, physician, and insurance details.
  • Prepare and submit accurate billing for Medicare accounts.
  • Research and resubmit rejected Medicare claims.
  • File Medicaid Room and Board claims and forward reimbursements to the correct facility.
  • Verify patient information before submitting Notices of Election to Medicare.
  • Submit Notices of Election within CMS-required timelines.
  • Compile and submit month-end reports and data on time.
  • Track and manage census data, bill/stat sheet tracking, and eligibility information for hospice patients.


Qualifications

Minimum of 2+ years of hospice billing experience, with a focus on inpatient, outpatient, and facility services. Knowledge of Medicare coverage rules, eligibility, and hospice billing. Proficiency in Excel and managing detailed spreadsheets. Ability to interact with leadership executives and other team members. Job stability and recent, relevant manager references required.

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Compliance: Background check, drug screening, and COVID vaccination required
  • Location: Westminster, MD
  • Parking: Car required for transportation
