Location: Lenexa KS 66219
Pay range: $19-$20 per hour
Duration: 3+Months+
Shift: 8 am - 4:30 pm Monday - Friday
*Pay rate is based on years of experience and educational qualifications.
Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Laboratory Assistant. In this role, you will perform essential daily functions to support our laboratory operations. Your meticulous attention to detail and dedication to accuracy will assist our professional staff in delivering high-quality results efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Sorting, receiving, and preparing specimens for analysis.
Performing routine maintenance on laboratory equipment.
Centrifuging specimens, printing labels, and recording temperature data.
Preparing reagents and media required for testing.
Assisting in specimen preparation at workstations, including aliquoting and slide preparation.
Conducting QA/QC duties as assigned and resolving pending lists.
Maintaining cleanliness and organization of work areas, including decontamination procedures.
Handling biohazardous materials and performing radioactive wipe tests.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Medical assistant training is advantageous; coursework in math and science preferred.
Experience: No prior experience required; training will be provided.
Special Requirements:
Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and maximize workstation efficiency.
Strong attention to detail and ability to retain information.
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers and customers.
Familiarity with laboratory computer systems and basic PC operation.
Compliance with PPE and safety regulations is essential.
