Designer - Retail / Advertising / eCommerce design

Location : Hybrid Role in Hoboken, NJ

Duration : 6-12 months + extensions to potential hire

Range: 35-50 HR


Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

  • Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing projects within the decided-upon budget, timeline, and scope. They will also effectively monitor and present project updates to relevant stakeholders, clients, or project team members.


Qualifications

  • BA/BFA in Graphic Design or other relevant education
  • 2+ years of professional design retail experience in the area of advertising and/or ecommerce design and the production process involved therein
  • Extensive knowledge of working with design software specifically Figma & Adobe Creative Suite, including proficiency in advanced functions (for example, multi-layer masking and compositing)
  • Ability to edit photos and do minor retouching in photoshop (clipping, extending backgrounds etc.)
  • Ability to distinguish good layout/typography, apply color theory, hierarchy, and balance
  • Ability to troubleshoot minor problems with typography, layout, applications, hardware
  • Organized worker and ability to grasp various new software used for creative workflow
  • Comfortable doing motion design from static imagery and/or other types of components
  • Able to take creative direction and collaborate with a variety of production teams

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Managing interactive projects in an online creative or related digital field
  • Proficiency in various programs, such as, but not limited to:
  • Figma
  • Google slides
  • Powerpoint
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understanding of responsive/adaptive design
  • Experience working with animation software (After Effects, Premier Pro)
  • Ability to design logos/lockups and develop visual identity systems
  • Some understanding of print process and producing print mechanicals
  • Illustration skills a plus but not required
  • Comfortable with presenting work to your peers, creative leadership and/or partners


Creative Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, design, and maintain multi-channel creative assets that align to content strategy & adhere to brand guidelines from external agencies or partners
  • Deliver creative from briefing to final deliverable—which includes, but not limited to, digital & print assets, activations, and paid digital media marketing
  • Actively work to develop cross functional relationships and foster collaboration
  • Proactive, self-sufficient, and professional, with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Work closely with Project Management & Ops to communicate and deliver on creative needs through online project management tools
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Project Management & Ops, eComm Ops, Copy, & Product teams, as well as external agencies and partners, to provide the Walmart creative point-of-view & to ensure brand cohesion across all user touchpoints
