Job Summary:

The Digitech / Photo Assistant is a vital part of The Digitech Photo Studio, responsible for producing high-quality product photography for our diverse clients. This role combines technical expertise with creative collaboration, supporting photographers and ensuring smooth studio operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Digital Asset Management:
  • Process and organize digital image files, including keywording, metadata tagging, file naming, and daily image submissions.
  • Maintain the image library and assist with image searches.
  • Deliver final assets to retouching teams with detailed notes, instructions, and special requests.
  • Manage communication and asset delivery to external retouching partners when needed.
  • Studio Operations & Photography Support:
  • Assist photographers with equipment setup, breakdown, and on-set support (checking focus, color, exposure).
  • Ensure a safe and organized studio environment.
  • Perform routine maintenance on photography equipment (cameras, lenses, etc.) and maintain accurate inventory lists.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
  • Participate in studio project meetings and effectively communicate with photographers, retouchers, and other team members.
  • Maintain detailed records of assignments, project status, and retouching notes.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Photography or a related field, plus 1-3 years of experience in a digitech and/or photo assisting role.
  • Software Proficiency:
  • Expert-level knowledge of Capture One Pro.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Bridge).
  • Experience with large-scale digital asset management systems.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Working knowledge of Canon EOS digital cameras and studio lighting systems.
  • Understanding of photography principles (lighting, composition, color management).
  • Personal Attributes:
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and 1 manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to studio operations.
  • A passion for photography and a collaborative team spirit.
