** TITLE: Estimator
** LOCATION: Onsite at @ 4 Irving Place New York, NY 10003
** DURATION: 6 Month Contract with possible extension
Pay Rate: $60.00hr. W2 - $65/hr. W2
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- The Substation Projects Engineering department seeks a dedicated, dynamic, and innovative individual to join as estimator to support the Station Projects Manhattan/SI section.
- The selected estimator will be working on transmission and distribution construction projects for the client.
- Must recognize the importance of Commitment to Excellence and Rules We Live By, be able to provide exemplary customer service, demonstrate a high energy level, and able to handle multiple assignments with changing priorities while meeting deadlines.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:
- To develop complex, multidiscipline conceptual, authorization and appropriation cost estimates for multidiscipline substation construction projects and transmission facilities based on scope of work, preliminary drawings and sketches
FLEX SKILLS:
- The individual must have prior experience in developing electrical, mechanical and or civil cost estimates for substations and/or transmission projects.
- The candidate must be familiar with the engineering, design, and construction of substations and transmission facilities.
- An understanding of the capital budget process and utility economics in the preparation of authorization and appropriation estimates is preferred
- Computer proficiency is required including knowledge of Microsoft Project/Office and estimating computer applications and databases.
- Familiarity with local, state, national, and industry codes and standards is preferred.
SOFT SKILLS:
- Strong organizational, teamwork, leadership, interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills are essential.
- The right candidates must be self-motivated, resourceful and articulate. The individual will possess a "can-do" attitude, have a clear sense of accountability and understand what it takes to meet customers' needs
