Position Summary
Provide technical expertise, quality installations and troubleshooting for service calls, and smaller projects. You will work commercial and Industrial facilities locally as needed. Your responsibilities include helping install electrical systems based on the needs of each specific project. You will follow a schedule, layout drawings, order material, support subcontractors, and lead the installation process as needed. You also oversee project compliance, start-up, and commissioning activities to ensure the safety of the electrical system.
This role requires some leadership and organizational skills, and our ideal candidate possesses significant prior experience working in commercial and manufacturing environments. You should have ample experience with installation and construction processes and specifications as well as experience with blueprint reading, schematics, and many low voltage systems as well as a thorough knowledge of workplace safety practices. You will be required to work with your tools in the field.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Reports directly to the Leadman on any given Project, potentially being the leadman for any given task and or project (size dependent).
- Turn in timely and thorough daily logs and time sheets.
- Coordinate with project management activities for material procurement and delivery, effective utilization of labor hours and overall project performance to meet/exceed quoted cost performance.
- Work with existing workforce and request additional staffing as required according to projects demand.
- Ensure appropriate paperwork is submitted in a timely manner.
- Effectively represent JTI’s core values and reputation in a positive, professional manner and ensure each crew does the same.
- Ensure proper usage and maintenance of equipment and tools.
- Ensure you have the appropriate tools, equipment, and training to perform the required tasks safely and efficiently for assigned projects.
- Understand and comply/enforce all company policies and procedures.
- Maintain open communication with appropriate onsite supervision, Project Manager/Estimators and Kelley senior management.
- Attend internal and external training courses which pertain to improving and developing job related business management, leadership, and operational skills.
- Minimum Qualifications High school Graduate
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have or be willing to Study and pass the Electrical Journeyman exam.
- 5+ years of experience
- Must pass a drug/alcohol screen upon offer of employment.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
- May be required to pass a physical abilities test/post offer screen for employment.
- Must have legal authorization to work in the United States of America or other countries as may be required.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Must have a strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and possess knowledge of such electrical and controls construction.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems and perform complex system tests.
- Ability to manage compliance issues (OSHA, MSHA, First Aid/CPR, PPE, random drug/alcohol screens, etc.).
- Ability to read and comprehend requests for bid/quote, work orders, electrical drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to communicate with others at all levels of the organization and to assimilate and understand information in a manner consistent with essential job functions.
- Ability to professionally communicate with the customer and the public.
- Knowledge and compliance with company safety and disciplinary programs.
- Demonstrate knowledge of personnel problem-solving techniques.
- Ability to utilize basic skills of Microsoft Word and Excel.

- Must be able to work flexible hours with some weekend and/or holiday work as required.
- Able to maintain physical condition appropriate to perform assigned duties and responsibilities which may include walking or standing for extended periods of time, climbing, bending, and/or operating assigned equipment and vehicles.
- Travel from site to site; exposure to dust and noise; exposure to heights and high voltage; work in inclement weather.
