The Director of Enterprise Data Management, reporting to the Vice President of Finance, is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive system-wide data management strategy. This role emphasizes leveraging data to generate actionable insights that drive informed decision-making across the organization.

Core responsibilities include managing data warehouses, dashboards, scorecards, metrics, and reporting to support clinical, operational, and quality improvement initiatives. The Director provides strategic leadership and oversight of the enterprise data engineering team, ensuring effective budget management, the adoption of innovative technologies, and compliance with robust data governance and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Developing and Leading a System-Wide Data Platform

• Data Accuracy & Availability: Ensure data is accurate, accessible, and relevant for decision-makers across all organizational entities.
• System Optimization: Build and maintain a robust data platform that enables actionable insights and efficient data collection systems.
• End-User Support: Enhance decision-making by understanding data needs, prioritizing requests, and educating users on best practices for analytics applications.

Overseeing the Enterprise Data Management Function

• Team Development: Assess needs, develop strategies, and manage the performance of the data engineering team, including hiring, training, and evaluation.
• Operational Excellence: Oversee the collection, organization, and dissemination of data, ensuring timely and accurate reporting, while designing dashboards that deliver meaningful insights.
• Collaboration: Work closely with management and departments to prioritize data needs, interpret analytics, and maintain data integrity.

Promoting a Data-Driven Culture

• Education & Advocacy: Foster a data-driven mindset across all levels and entities of the organization.
• Data Governance: Implement robust governance policies and quality standards in alignment with priorities set by the Beacon Health System Data Governance Council.
• Hub-and-Spoke Model: Support enterprise analytics by designing solutions that empower end-user analysts with the information they need.

Additional Responsibilities

• Develop and apply structured methodologies for data utilization and continuous quality improvement.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and tools in data warehousing, mining, and analytics.
• Complete job-related assignments and special projects as directed.

Organizational Responsibilities

• Attend department meetings and complete all required education and competencies within established timeframes.
• Adhere to regulatory and organizational policies while maintaining professional certifications and standards.
• Promote safety through universal precautions and ergonomic techniques.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Proven experience in data management, analytics, and team leadership.
