Senior Technical Architect (AWS Cloud and Databricks)

Location: Seattle, WA

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Architect with a deep understanding of AWS Cloud and Databricks to join our team in Seattle. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with a proven track record of designing, implementing, and optimizing complex data platforms. You will play a pivotal role in driving the adoption of cloud technologies and big data solutions within our organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and architecture of cloud-based data platforms, leveraging AWS services and Databricks to build scalable and resilient solutions.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into robust technical designs.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Ensure adherence to cloud best practices, security, and compliance standards.
  • Develop and maintain architectural roadmaps and standards.
  • Conduct proof-of-concept (PoC) and pilot projects to evaluate new technologies and solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in cloud computing and big data technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud technologies.
  • Proven expertise in designing and implementing data platforms on AWS, including EC2, S3, EMR, Redshift, and other relevant services.
  • Deep understanding of Databricks architecture, including Delta Lake, Spark, and MLflow.
  • Strong knowledge of data engineering principles, data warehousing, and data modeling.
  • Experience with data integration, ETL/ELT processes, and data quality management.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Scala) and SQL.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer, DevOps)
  • Databricks Certified Professional
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of data governance and security best practices.
