Specific Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have the following specific responsibilities for Electrical Engineering support and oversite of Design, Construction, Commissioning including:
• Review of Design drawings and specifications for completeness and accuracy
• Review of equipment configuration and distribution routing of electrical systems in NavisWorks 3D model relative to functionality, egress, ease of maintenance requirements, constructability, alignment with One-Line Diagrams, etc.
• Validation of engineering calculations
• Review and approval of equipment and component submittals in coordination with O&M staff
• Review and validation of construction RFI responses
• Review and approval of shop drawings and construction models
• Field engineering QA during construction
• Commissioning support
• Entry of system information into a capacity planning software
• ETAP software knowledge
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
• US citizenship is required.
• 8+ years of Electrical Engineering experience with designing power distribution systems for industrial facilities.
• 4 year Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• FE/EIT certification is required and an active professional engineers (PE) license is preferred.
• Semiconductor experience preferred
• Knowledge of Electrical engineering and design practices including drawings, specifications, codes, building materials and costs, and construction techniques.
• Working knowledge of applicable electrical power system analysis software packages such as ETAP, EDSA, and/or SKM.
• Working knowledge of NFPA, NEC, and applicable Electrical Codes, and cable Industry Codes and Standards (e.g. IEC, ANSI, IEEE, ISA).
• Experience in facility medium and low voltage power distribution system design and the preparation of Electrical equipment and systems procurement and installation specifications.
• Experience in emergency and uninterruptable power generation and distribution systems design and the preparation of associated Electrical equipment, procurement, and installation specifications.
• Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team of engineers and designers on multiple, concurrently executed projects.
• Good organizational and communication skills. Expresses ideas concisely and clearly, both orally and in writing.
• Accepts responsibility for own actions and honors commitments.
• Willingness and ability to travel to client offices, other company offices, and project sites for meetings, performing inspections and walk-downs and to assist field personnel and construction team with Electrical technical issues.
• Proficient in using office personal computers, office networks, and the Microsoft Office software suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
