Index Engines are looking for a Software Engineering Manager to join an established and fast growing team in Holmdel, NJ. We are looking to grow this year by 80 heads and require a new Software Engineering Manager to work closely with our Engineers as part of the technical leadership team.

Working with industry leading clients, our new Software Engineering Manager will lead software engineers assigned to work on Scrum Teams. Your role will be to lead and manage a growing team of 6 software engineers and one QA.

The software application runs on the Linux operating system and is primarily written in the C-Language, with some code written in Python. Technical proficiency in these areas would be highly advantageous.

The role will involve:

• Technical coaching
• Taking part in design and code reviews
• Process improvement within Software Engineering
• Performance feedback
• Hiring new team members

Job Requirements:

The ideal individual for this job will have a solid technical background in software development and strong leadership and communication skills. Specific requirements are:

• Experience in software management or program management in a software development organization+
• 10+ years on experience as a Software Developer and at least 5+ years as a manager in a product company
• Experience working in an Agile Development environment
• Extensive experience with the C Language (C++ would be acceptable)
