Position Summary:
The OEM Engineer II (Electrical Engineer) plays a critical role in deploying comprehensive systems that integrate company products with complementary technologies to meet customer requirements. This position involves managing hardware deployments, coordinating third-party integrations, and providing technical leadership throughout the system deployment lifecycle. Training provided for build.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the technical liaison between the OEM Program Manager and technical teams.
- Manage third-party vendor certifications and integrations to ensure seamless compatibility.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues associated with OEMs and ensure system interoperability.
- Mentor and train new engineers on company processes, products, and proprietary technologies.
- Develop and refine tools, processes, and procedures to improve deployment efficiency.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the company’s software, products, and proprietary communication protocols.
- Plan, supervise, and delegate daily activities within the team to ensure accurate and timely service delivery.
- Monitor team performance, resource allocation, and report updates to the VP of Systems Engineering.
- Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering teams to define software and hardware requirements.
- Lead project reviews, First Article Inspections (FAI), Post Delivery Inspections (PDI), and client demonstrations.
- Document system configurations and deployment changes while ensuring solution success.
- Anticipate, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software issues on systems, networks, and devices.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in project or systems engineering involving the following: hardware, software, networking, and communication technologies.
- Prefer experience working in vehicle factory environments and using engineering lab equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, soldering irons).
- Familiarity with J1939 and J1708 protocols and multiplex systems.
- Proficiency in hardware design, documentation, and system performance analysis.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Project) and adaptability to new software (e.g., D365).

- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with expertise in negotiation and influencing.
- Effective time management and multitasking capabilities.
- Ability to document requirements, develop design solutions, and align products with customer needs.
Travel Requirements:
- Availability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 40% of the time.
