Storm4 is partered with a Series C funded company that specializes in Smart Building technology, providing real - time data to enhance indoor environments. Their products help to reduce energy costs and optimize real estate usage through occupancy based building controls and HVAC monitoring.

They are searching for a senior embedded engineer with an entrepreneurial mindset to play an instrumental role in developing and maintain the companies embedded systems, firmware development, and IoT connectivity. This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of smart building technology, developing solutions that drive efficiency and connectivity in modern indoor environments.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and optimization of Linux-based embedded systems for sensor platforms.
• Design, develop, and implement firmware for both Linux-based systems and microcontrollers, focusing on IoT connectivity while ensuring efficiency and reliability.
• Work with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), WiFi, and LTE modems to facilitate seamless communication between IoT devices, gateways, and cloud platforms.
• Take ownership of the full embedded development cycle, including coding, testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and deployment.
• Develop automated build and test procedures to enhance system reliability.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in embedded systems development.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, Rust, or C++.
• Expertise in low-level programming with C.
• Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and Linux-based embedded development.
• Strong knowledge of microcontroller architectures and hardware interfaces.
