We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Paralegal to join our thriving Estate Planning Department. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of paralegal experience with a strong focus on estate planning matters. This role will involve a wide range of responsibilities supporting attorneys in all aspects of estate administration, including:
Key Responsibilities:
- Estate Administration:
- Assisting with probate and trust administration proceedings, including gathering and organizing estate assets.
- Preparing and filing necessary court documents, such as inventories, accountings, and petitions.
- Communicating with beneficiaries, executors, and other interested parties.
- Assisting with the distribution of estate assets.
- Estate Planning:
- Preparing estate planning documents, such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
- Conducting legal research and analysis.
- Assisting with client meetings and consultations.
- Maintaining client files and databases.
- Other Duties:
- Performing general administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and managing calendars.
- Assisting with special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of paralegal experience
- Strong knowledge of estate administration procedures and probate law.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of estate planning software such as Lackner.
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to client service.
