We are urgently hiring a temporary Foreclosure paralegal for a Greenville law firm. This position provides great flexibility and could accommodate a part-time or full-time schedule.
Sample Responsibilities of the Creditors’ Rights/Bankruptcy Paralegal
- Understand Foreclosure process
- Understand replevin process and key milestones to a replevin legal action
- Prepare and draft foreclosure-related legal documents such as summonses, complaints, motions, affidavits, and notices of sale
- Review, organize, and summarize case material
- Conduct legal research and investigations as needed and directed
- Responsible for docketing, calendaring, drafting pleadings and motions, discovery, and other litigation-related documents in State and Federal Court.
- Monitoring dockets and email notifications
- Assist with the preparation and execution of foreclosure sale documents, including post-sale procedures and the preparation of any necessary motions related to the sale.
- Understand foreclosure proceedings requirements related to relevant local, state, and federal laws, including foreclosure procedures, bankruptcy considerations, and consumer protection laws (e.g., RESPA, TILA)
- Accurately track and log time spent on cases for billing purposes, ensuring that the firm’s billing guidelines are followed
Minimum and Additional Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required
- Paralegal certificate preferred, but not required
- 2+ years of Foreclosure law experience in a law firm
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Windows, and other legal software
- Proficiency in CM/ECF Filing
- Working knowledge of State and Federal court systems and the ability to understand and follow Local, State and Federal Rules of court
- Detail oriented
