The Contract Manager is responsible for managing the life cycle of a PBM contract from beginning to completion including the contract approval process.
Position Overview:
- Oversee the contracting process, including drafting contracts, managing version control, tracking deadlines, obtaining necessary internal approvals, and coordinating the execution process.
- Draft and assist with the negotiation of contracts, renewals, amendments, and other forms (e.g., LOI, LOA, MOU) as required with clients.
- Communicate contract deliverables to relevant operational teams and ensure proper internal approvals from stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal teams, external clients, and consultants to support contracting initiatives.
- Review RFP responses to ensure alignment with organizational positions and market competitiveness.
- Set priorities, coordinate workflows, and implement standardization where possible.
- Maintain and update contract templates while managing the approval process for non-standard language and exceptions.
- Provide quality control, interpret contract language, and address inquiries related to processes and templates.
- Conduct general research, administrative contract management, and other assigned tasks.
- Maintain records of contracts and related documentation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
- At least three years of experience in contract management or a similar role, with expertise in contracting, ideally within healthcare, pharmacy benefits management, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
