Position: Engineering Operations Support Specialist

Location: Schenectady, NY 12345

Duration: Long Term Contract


Job Description:

  • Work shift (days/times) – 7pm-7am EST 3 days a week, and 4 hours on overnight between Wed-Thurs. Shifts run from Sunday through Wed or Wed 7 PM - Saturday 7 AM
  • Work Location – 1 River Rd, Schenectady ONSITE Position Only.
  • Please submit candidates that have more engineering troubleshooting related experience
  • Required skill set – Technical troubleshooting experience; effective communicator; analytical and detail oriented; preferred but not required: Prefers someone with Engineering troubleshooting
  • Travel Required (% of travel) – 0%
  • Is this a temp to perm position – Temp possibility of the extension.
  • A brief overview of your facility and what you produce- In this role, you will support Client global monitored fleet of onshore wind turbines to ensure the world's best running fleet.
  • Quickly learn and execute engineering processes related to renewables power generation and Remote Operation Center; control center is on campus.
  • Good communication, detail oriented, technical experience.
  • Associates in the field is acceptable.
  • This is technical troubleshooting in Client Wind Remote Operations Center in Schenectady, NY.
  • This is a shift-based role that needs to be performed on campus.
  • Subject to direct operations supervision/prescribed work instructions/systems checking.
  • There is generally a step-by-step sequence of standard operational tasks which need to be followed to achieve a result.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Able to proficiently perform the remote troubleshooting of wind turbines and other power assets using digital tools.
  • Read, understand, and execute technical troubleshooting documents.
  • Document and communicate the technical data consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Adhere to applicable regulatory compliance requirements as applicable.
  • Provide timely communications/escalate with the respective stakeholders on significant issues or developments observed during day-to-day monitoring.
  • Document all work performed via guidelines in approved procedures and appropriate playbook via provided digital tools.
  • Actively manage customer phone support requests.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Information Technology, Energy Technologies, Operations or Computer Science from an accredited College or University OR (an associate's degree from an accredited College OR University with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical role) OR (High School Diploma / GED with 4 years of experience in a technical role)
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
  • Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen
  • Must be willing to work out of an office in Schenectady NY, on a 24/7 rotating shift structure
  • Ability and willingness to take initiative.
  • Strong Communications skills both verbally and written in English.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
