Bishop & Co. is seeking a Big Island based Buyer to join our client’s Hilo corporate procurement team.
In this role, you'll acquire food products for the company brands. The Corporate Buyer is key to ensuring efficient procurement processes and maintaining strong supplier relationships while meeting the needs of the operating companies and sales teams.
The ideal candidate is an analytical self-starter with experience in supply chain management, forecasting, profitability analysis, and inventory control.
**This is an on-site role in Hilo open to current or prior Hawaii state residents**
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and submit purchase orders to suppliers.
- Maintain and build supplier relationships.
- Provide forecasts and requirements based on company needs.
- Coordinate logistics for deliveries and distribution.
- Explore new product and sales opportunities.
- Monitor and report on inventory, sales, and profit margins.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and advise sales staff on product details.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate degree in a relevant field.
- 1-2 years of purchasing experience.
- Proficient in MS Office and basic office equipment.
- Experience in supply chain management and inventory control.
- Strong time management, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BA/BS in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline.
- 3-5 years of purchasing experience.
Pay: $60,000 - $70,000 annual salary commensurate with experience.
