CNC Machine Shop Manager

A well-established manufacturing company in Stevensville, Maryland is looking to hire a detail-oriented and motivated CNC Machine Shop Manager with previous work experience as a CNC Programmer using CAM system (Mastercam preferred) and previous supervisory experience to successfully lead a team of 12 members in a machine shop. The CNC Machine Shop Manager will also be responsible for setting up and operating multi-axis CNC lathes and both horizontal and vertical CNC machining centers.

Salary: Starting at $100,000 / yearly, depending on experience

Work Location: Stevensville, Maryland

Essential Job Functions:

• Lead a team of 12 in a machine shop
• CNC programming & designing using MasterCAM
• Edit programs using G-code, trouble-shoot programs
• Fixture design and machining
• Set up and operate multi-axis CNC lathes and both vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers
• Use machine shop measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, scales, indicators, etc.
• Communicate effectively with team members and management
• Adhere to all quality and safety codes and regulations, maintain a clean work environment

Qualifications:

Experience Level: Senior level experience

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

• Previous supervisory experience with excellent problem-solving skills
• Good understanding of all machine shop principles
• Thorough knowledge of cutting tools such as end mills, drills, taps, slitting saws and cyclone mills
• Previous experience with automation and robotics
• Ability to read drawings, schematics, sketches, and understand oral instructions
• Experience with Fanuc, Haas, and Mazak controls a plus
• Previous work experience as a CNC Programmer using CAM system (Mastercam preferred) with machine operation
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• A keen eye for detail and precision

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
