Are you an experienced professional in inventory management looking for an opportunity to lead a dynamic team? ASTEC Industries is seeking a dedicated individual to take on the role of Inventory Control Lead. In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our department, including preparing and managing reports, and handling any additional tasks as required. Key deliverables include conducting inventory cycle counts, collaborating with the inventory controls manager to ensure compliance with organizational policies and laws, executing and reconciling physical inventories, monitoring inventory issues and implementing effective resolutions, and achieving procurement goals while supporting others within established protocols.
What You'll Do: - Monitor and maintain current inventory levels and associated paperwork.
- Handle daily inventory control transactions, including adjustments, discrepancies, and vendor returns.
- Coordinate with stockroom personnel and purchasing departments to ensure timely expense inventory replenishment.
- Manage build-ahead parts inventory by initiating and overseeing job openings to replenish stock as needed for major projects and sales orders, considering seasonal demand fluctuations.
- Generate reports related to inventory values, raw materials, quantity and value adjustments, count discrepancies, etc.
- Provide daily support for the cycle count program, including determining cycle count rows, analyzing discrepancies, inputting counts, and reconciling discrepancies.
- Support all aspects of Physical Inventory, including maintaining raw material books, cycle count sheets, tags, coordinating inventory sheets distribution, problem-solving, updating counts, and finalizing inventory closure.
- Demonstrate proficiency in preparing routine administrative paperwork.
- Monitor and maintain current inventory levels, tracking batches and associated paperwork.
- Collaborate with all Astec departments to enforce proper inventory control procedures.

What We Need from You: - High school diploma or equivalent certification required with a minimum of 4 years of experience.
- Two years of inventory control experience in a support-related role is desirable.
- Must have at least two years of experience using MS Word and Windows, Excel, and Outlook.
- General familiarity with Epicor inventory and material transactions is preferred.
- Strong telephone etiquette is essential for handling customer and employee calls.
- Typing speed of 45 to 55 words per minute is required.
- Must be able to work well under pressure with deadlines and effectively collaborate within a team.
