Position Summary: 

The Beverage Manager at Peachtree Catering & Events is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of our beverage services. This position plays a critical part in ensuring top-quality service across our four exclusive venues, as well as off-premise events. The Beverage Manager will manage all alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage purchasing, handle inventory, and set the standard for bar operations. They are also tasked with driving beverage sales growth and improving cost efficiency. Wine expertise and mixology are essential, as is a focus on training staff to ensure excellence in service.

Responsibilities: 

  • Purchasing : Oversee all beverage purchasing including beer, wine, liquor, soda, juice, coffee, specialty mixers, ice, paper goods, dry products
  • Increase Beverage Sales : Drive beverage sales through strategic offerings, creative cocktail development, and collaboration with the event coordinators.
  • Event Preparation: Pull and pack for all events per week. Clearly label for ease of packing out and follow all standardized pars
  • Cost Management: Reduce alcohol sales costs to 16.5%, from the current 19.12%, by optimizing purchases and reducing waste.
  • Inventory Management: Complete monthly inventories and update pricing based on bottle sizes, PLCB (Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board) sales, and other factors.
  • Pars: Maintain and adjust standardized pars for all beverage items.
  • Consumption Reports: Ensure the bartenders record event consumption by event and keep digital records in tandem with the Beverage Team
  • Bartender Training: Standardize bartender training at each venue and develop setup guides for each venue and off-premise events.
  • Progress Monitoring: Check-in on bartender progress after training is complete by observing shifts.
  • Staffing Assistance: Assist the Staffing Manager in evaluating bar staff and ensuring the best mix of employees at each event.
  • Recruitment Assistance: Assist HR and Staffing Manager with interviewing bartender candidates.
    Employee Onboarding: Onboard all approved bar hires
  • RAMP Maintenance: Maintain RAMP (Responsible Alcohol Management Program) certification list, new employee orientation per PLCB, and manage new staff member RAMP training
  • Cocktail Development: Develop and present one new craft cocktail per group tasting. Collaborate with Event Coordinators and Sales Managers on adjustments based on client feedback.
  • Wine Selections: Work with the Creative Operations Director, Owners, and other relevant parties to curate seasonal wine selections and contribute to wine list updates.
  • Beverage Development: Evaluate and update beverage packages annually, making recommendations for improvements and pricing.
  • Licensing and Compliance: Apply for PLCB permits for events where alcohol is provided by Peachtree outside of Pomme.

Qualifications: 

  • Proven ability to drive sales growth and manage costs in a beverage or bar setting.
  • Strong mixology skills and wine expertise, with the ability to train staff in these areas.
  • Exceptional initiative, creativity, and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to work independently.
  • Proficient in basic office software (Excel, email, scanners, etc.).
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and be on call as needed.
  • Ability to mentor and train staff to meet high standards of service.
  • Professional attitude and appearance at all times, with excellent interpersonal skills.
