Forensic psychologists provide services for both the criminal and civil court systems, conducting psychological evaluations, helping to resolve such legal questions as whether a defendant may be competent to stand trial, pose a risk of violence, providing opinions on child-custody, personal injury cases, etc.
Education for Psychologist:
A Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical psychology from an APA accredited university
Experience for Psychologist:
Experience in forensic and clinical psychology desired.
Forensic and Clinical PsychExperts is looking to expand the practice to add on an additional full time or part time licensed clinical psychologist to conduct independent medical exams for veterans and additional clinical work. If looking to also perform forensic examinations, this is a plus.
Licenses/Certifications for Psychologist:
Current license as a Psychologist in the state of practice
Responsibilities
Conducts psychological assessments, and forensic assessments such as competency to stand trial evaluations, and violence and suicide risk assessments.
Provides expert testimony to the court.
Demonstrates knowledge of FS 490, ethical and related clinical principles.
Completes thorough, accurate, and timely documentation of services provided that consistent with professional standards and hospital procedures.
