Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Kitchen Manager to join our exceptional and forward-thinking team at Courage Bagels. As a part of our management, you will play an important role in maintaining the highest standards of culinary excellence and ensuring smooth and efficient kitchen operation.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating to consistently deliver top-quality food.
- Lead and motivate a team of culinary professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure optimal performance and development.
- Collaborate closely with the GM and Owners, ensuring all products meet our high standards of taste and presentation.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage food costs to maintain budgetary targets while minimizing waste and ensuring freshness.
- Ensure and enforce health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and promoting a safe working environment.
- Maintain the overall cleanliness of the kitchen operation and ensure cleaning matrices are being completed on a regular schedule.
- Foster a positive and collaborative working environment, encouraging open communication and teamwork among all staff members.
- Assist the General Manager in maintaining the overall success of the operation and contribute to the increase in quality, efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Ensure operational cost objectives are being met.
- Maintain proper waste, temperature and inventory controls throughout the kitchen operation.
Requirements:
· 4+ years of experience working in a high volume, upscale fast casual or fine dining restaurant
· Demonstrated Leadership Skills
· Highly organized, detailed oriented and energetic.
· Experienced in training and developing kitchen staff, maintaining standards.
· Must be able to execute menu and recipes with consistency.
· Effective in controlling costs and profitability without sacrificing quality at high volume.
· Bi-lingual a plus (English/Spanish).
· In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations, and kitchen operations.
· Solid understanding of financial management principles, including budgeting, cost control, and inventory management.
· Effective communication skills to liaise with team members and management.
