Job Description

Responsibilities:

Provide ear, nose and throat specialized care to patients.
Perform comprehensive physical examinations and develop individualized treatment plans.
Perform minor procedures in office, including but not limited to, nasal endoscopies, cerumen impaction removal, epistaxis control and foreign body removal, endoscopic and stroboscopic evaluation, post operative care.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.
Conduct pre-operative exams and provide pre/post-surgical instructions and education to patients and their families.
Utilize electronic medical record system (Modernizing Medicine) to document patient encounters and manage patient information.
Prescribe medications in accordance with established standards and guidelines.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required:

Possession of a Bachelor’s degree, together with a certificate from completing an NCCPA accredited physician assistant program
Possession of a license to practice as physician assistant from the state of California
Possession of state and federal Controlled Substance Registration

Minimum Experience required:

1+ year of working experience as a physician assistant
Knowledge of medical procedures and guidelines concerning assessment, treatment, and recovery
Experience with improvements in innovative medical technology

Skills required:

Some clinical experience in ENT is preferred but not required
Ability to provide expert clinical judgment and function independently
Possession of exceptional communication and interpersonal skills that enable effective collaboration with physicians, staff, community health workers, patients and their families
Ability to work with little or no supervision, and to take initiative in handling the responsibilities of the post
Ability to understand complex medical information and clearly communicate it to patients and their families, medical staff, and external customers, in written and spoken format
Possession of conflict resolution and problem-solving skills to effectively manage conflict in work environment
Ability to keep all sensitive and confidential information to self and out of reach to unauthorized persons.
Problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task
