As the Adolescent Residential Therapist, you will be responsible for providing direct care and therapeutic support to adolescents in a residential treatment setting. The counselor is responsible for implementing individualized treatment plans, facilitating group and induvial therapy sessions, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment. This role involves working closely with a multidisciplinary team to promote the mental health and well-being of the youth in care. Additional responsibilities include:
Your Responsibilities
Build positive relationships with residents to foster trust and cooperation
Implement individualized treatment plans as developed by the clinical team.
Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions focusing on various therapeutic goals.
Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques to address mental health issues, trauma, and behavioral problems.
Respond to crises and behavioral incidents promptly and effectively.
Use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviors.
Provide support and intervention during emotional and behavioral crises.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of residents progress, behaviors, and interventions. Make all efforts to obtain all clinical, medical, educational, and legal reports, meeting all standards and policies.
Prepare and submit required reports and documentation such as psycho-social assessment, admission, and progress staffing and discharge summaries, etc. in a timely manner.
Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, including other therapists, case managers, medical staff, and other involved agencies such as Substance Abuse Center, private psychologists, and other community providers.
Provides on-call coverage for crisis situations involving clients such as medical or psychiatric hospitalizations, child abuse situations, runaways, or when a client is behaviorally out of control and staff require consultation.
Maintains an active, cooperative relationship with each clients family, communicating regularly to families regarding progress and problems, home visit assessments and staff date information.
Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
Conduct regular safety checks and address any safety concerns promptly.

What You Need
Masters in a mental health field
Relevant experience in behavioral healthcare setting

Licensure as an Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) strongly preferred.
One (1) to three (3) years experience working in a residential treatment program preferred.
