Description:

PrimeCare Medical, Inc. is looking for a dedicated and hard-working Certified Medication Technician (CMT) to work full-time in the medical department at the St. Mary's Detention Center located in Leonardtown, MD. In this role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care and perform duties under the supervision of an RN.

Job Responsibilities:

Initial intake screening on new receptions
Taking vital signs and completing all appropriate intake forms
Preparing and maintaining examination and treatment areas for the facility
Preforming daily medication passes.
Maintaining medication records
Typing of various reports, letters and memoranda
Answering telephone and process calls
Maintaining filing system and confidentiality of information at all times
Following universal precautions at all times
Maintaining pleasant working attitude
Any/all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or delegated

Job Requirements

Must have completed an approved Certified Medication Technician program.
Currently hold a Medication Technician Certification valid in the state where the facility is located.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Effective communication skills
Pleasant telephone manner
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
Working knowledge of office equipment and medical equipment
Working knowledge of medical terminology
Can work effectively in a lock facility

This position provides a 2 week orientation period where you will be training on the job and shadowing with the nursing staff.
