JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the operation, performance and availability of all systems within PFFCU infrastructure. The primary focus will be on Networking, Telecom, MPLS and VOIP technologies throughout the organization.
The Manager Network Services is responsible for the operation, performance, and availability of the Credit Union’s core network throughout the organization. He\She is also responsible for handling network and systems projects of all levels of complexity. He\She needs to have the ability to work independently and interact with his\her staff in building a solid network engineering team.
This position will take ownership through hands on work and for managing and supporting the CCCE enterprise telecom system, including design, implementation and support. This position will also oversee the MPLS voice and data network. Must possess hands on ability to execute creative solutions to complex problems. Must be able to balance the ability to work independently and be the leader of a high performance team. Professionally interact with user groups while keeping Senior Information Technology management fully appraised of the status of his/her projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:
Hardware Architect and Hands-on engineering and management of all PFFCU Networking\Telecom systems
Application Support for CISCO Networking\Telecom infrastructure
Performance and Tuning of CISCO Networking\Telecom infrastructure
Security implementation throughout the Networking\Telecom infrastructure
Implementation and enforcing standards throughout telecom infrastructure
Review and Maintenance of daily jobs
Security and Hardening of Networking\Telecom infrastructure
Maintain, configure and update the telecommunication systems and MPLS network to insure reliability and performance
Analyzing and monitor system capacity and performance for upgrades and expansion
Assist in managing the budgeting and business plans for his\her area
Problem resolution: Troubleshoot and diagnose problem relating to TCP/IP, UDP, BGP, QoS, MPLS and SIP while documenting root cause and performing corrective action
Document and Diagram current and future expansion of systems and network through thoughtful analysis and review
Analyze IP and SIP endpoint and trunk issues
Mentoring staff and Building a cohesive team
Work in conjunction with third party vendors to expedite resolution
Develop a working knowledge of the business side of PFFCU and be able to interface effectively with all user areas.
Maintain and support call recording, monitoring and reporting systems
Perform systems analysis of all software\hardware modification including vendor software releases\patches and user requests for change in a timely and proactive manner
Researching, planning, designing, and implementing telecom solutions
Revising and updating IT departmental procedures as it applies to Networking\Telecom infrastructure scheduling, tuning and maintenance
Documenting internal support processes and procedures
Designing and implementing processes to ensure high availability of all systems and take immediate control of production problems and drive them to resolution
Working with the SVP IT to determine departmental priorities
When appropriate engaging outside contractors with proper technical expertise
Ensuring timely completion of projects and deployments
Mentor junior networking staff to build a reliable and solid infrastructure and team.
Other duties as assigned by the SVP IT
QUALIFICATIONS:
7+ years hands on Networking\Telecom infrastructure experience (design and implementation)
7+ years routers and switches as it relates to Networking\Telecom infrastructure
Project management skills a must
5 years in Management and Leadership
Experience in configuration and administration of PBXs, ACDs, ALGs and SBCs
Demonstrated advance networking experience with TCP/IP, UDP, QoS, MPLS and SIP
Demonstrated advance networking experience SDWAN, DMVPN and advance networking technologies
Experience working with vendors on multiple levels (ordering, provisioning and engineering)
Cisco Voice and CCNP certification or greater
Bachelor’s degree in technical field; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills
Must possess knowledge of monitoring technologies\methods relating to telecom systems
Must possess a high level of comfort with debugging complex issues
Must possess excellent customer service skills and be able to work independently and with a team in a highly customer-focused environment
Strong understanding of all aspects of Phone and Networking Systems as well as strong technical aptitude and problem solving skills are needed to perform this job successfully
Demonstrated experience supporting multisite WAN
Strong working knowledge of layer 3 networks including redundancy and advanced routing protocols including but not limited to BGP, HSRP, OSPF, EIGRP, SIP, ELAN, TLAN and MPLS
Ability to meet deadlines and concurrently manage multiple projects.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Proficient in all aspects of Cisco Switches, Nexus, ASAs & Routers, PALO firewalls, and Load balancers
Monitor and maintain network security appliances to insure the integrity of all systems from both internal and external entities.
Proactively monitor network performance and utilization and provide recommendations for improvement, upgrades, and expansion.
Accurately document current and future network configuration and changes following PFFCU’s change control guidelines.
Provisioning and maintenance of telecom infrastructure
Tier 3 problem escalation contact including rotating afterhours support
Develop a working knowledge of the business side of PFFCU and be able to effectively interface with staff using the technology.
Strong project skills required, specifically the ability to maintain focus and complete projects with multi-month timeframes
