RN-OR 3 years recent experience required and RN license SC/Compact There are 2 Types of shift mentioned, You can apply to any shift or Both shift Schedule Notes:40 hr/wk – 8 hr Shifts – 0700-1530 with 2 weekdays calls (1530-1900 or 1530-2300) and 1 weekend call (Sat or Sun) 0700 to 1900 every 6 weeks. Another shift Schedule Notes:40 hrs/wk; 8 hr Shifts; 1100-1930 with 6 weekday calls (1930 to 2300) and 1 Saturday or Sunday (0700 to 1900) every 6 weeks OR 0700 to 1530 with 6 weekday calls (1530 to 1730) and 1 Saturday or Sunday (0700 to 1900) every 6 weeks OR 0900 to 1730 with 6 weekdays calls (1730 to 1900 or 2300) and 1 Saturday or Sunday (0700 to 1900) every 6 weeks Days Per Week:5.00 Duties: Job Summary: To provide nursing care for patients following established standards and practices in accordance with the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act. To apply professional nursing theory and practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care. Contacts: Constant interaction with internal and external customers to include (but not limited to) patients, families, physicians, employees and visitors. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES RESPONSIBILITIES % OF TIME 1. Perform patient assessments reflecting physical, psychological, socio-cultural, spiritual, cognitive needs and functional abilities through the systematic collection and review of patient-specific data and communicate assessments appropriately. 20% 2. Plans and prioritizes care based on the assessment, evaluates patient progress and revises care to attain expected outcomes. Include patient/family in planning care and evaluating programs and outcomes. 20% 3. Demonstrates clinical competencies in specific area of practice as described in departmental performance standards. 10% 4. Assess patient/family learning needs, plans and provides education (involve other disciplines as needed) and evaluates the effectiveness of teaching in achieving desired outcomes. 10% 5. Identifies and responds appropriately to ethical issues in patient care; provides nursing care in a non-judgmental manner that respects patient diversity and acknowledges patient rights. Serve as a resource to others in addressing ethical dilemmas in patient care. 10% 6. Initiates collaborative dialogue with physicians and coordinates multidisciplinary activities to plan, deliver and evaluate patient care. 10% 7. Act as a patient advocate 10% 8. Provides nursing care in a non-judgmental manner that respects patient diversity and acknowledges patient rights and identifies resources to meet unique patient needs. Insures compliance with regulatory requirements, core measures, patient safety and quality initiatives to achieve optimal clinical and organizational outcomes. 10% Performs other duties and responsibilities as required. Skills: Knowledge/Skills: Must be able to Scrub and Circulate. Knowledge of the professional nursing theory and practice to give and evaluate patient care. Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures to administer patient care. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods and techniques of professional nursing to provide on-going patient care. Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions. Skill in preparing and maintaining records and writing reports. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, hospital, medical staff and the public. Ability to analyze situations and apply critical thinking. Ability to communicate clearly. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. For positions providing direct patient care with the nursing assessment requirement: BSN preferred, or required within five (5) years of hire date. Current RN Teammates transferring to another RN position in the same department will not be required to complete BSN within five (5) years of transfer date. Current RN Teammates transferring to another RN position in the different department will be required to complete BSN within five (5) years of transfer date. Licensure/Certification: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of South Carolina or holds a current compact/multi-state license as a Registered Nurse in a recognized NCSBN Compact State and is not a permanent resident of SC. Must have a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card. Work Demands/Environment: Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, stooping. Frequent lifting/moving patients. Intermittent lifting, moving or carrying, pushing or pulling up to 50 lbs. Frequent use of finger/hand dexterity. Constant reaching with hands/arms. Frequent talking or hearing. Corrected hearing and vision to normal range. Exposure to blood, body fluids or tissue. Possible exposure to infectious materials, communicable diseases and/or other conditions common to a healthcare environment. Intermittent exposure to risk of exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Moderate noise level in work area. Requires work under stressful conditions, deadlines, or irregular hours. May be required to take call and/or work weekends/holidays based on the needs of the department. Education: For positions providing direct patient care with the nursing assessment requirement: BSN preferred, or required within five (5) years of hire date. Current RN Teammates transferring to another RN position in the same department will not be required to complete BSN within five (5) years of transfer date. Current RN Teammates transferring to another RN position in the different department will be required to complete BSN within five (5) years of transfer date.
