Registered Nurse - Med Surg - Day Shift PRN at The Staff Pad summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Surgical Unit at Blue Ridge Medical Center is responsible for assessing, planning, overseeing, and evaluating nursing care for medical and surgical patients. This role involves direct patient care, collaboration with healthcare professionals, and maintaining standards of professional practice while ensuring compliance with health care policies. The RN will also provide guidance to LPNs and CNAs and participate in educational programs to enhance nursing skills.
The Staff Pad has partnered with Blue Ridge Medical Center in Blue Ridge, GA and we are in search of a Registered Nurse. ?The RN shall be responsible for planning, supervising and evaluating the nursing care of Medical and Surgical patients and for correlating the nursing process and the medical plan of care in accordance with the hospital policy/procedures, philosophy, goals and mission in the Surgical Unit. The work is performed in compliance with the established policies of the health care system and reflects the philosophy of the hospital as well as the mission of the department of nursing.
· Provides direct and indirect patient care.
· Assesses patient’s physical and psychosocial condition appropriately.
· Communicates with physicians/Nurse Manager/co-workers as appropriate regarding changes in patient’s clinical
condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
· Able to respond quickly and appropriately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
· Thoroughly documents care by various means.
· Precepts new staff as needed.
· Oversees and assists LPN and CNA staff.
· Maintains standards for professional practice.
· Assumes responsibility for maintaining license and required education and certifications
· Collaborates with other Health Care Professionals.
· Practices within QHC Service Excellence Standards.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing , diploma, ASN, or BSN
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Current Registered Professional Nurse license in the State of Georgia
Current CPR
PALS Preferred
ACLS Preferred
EXPERIENCE: One year of acute hospital experience preferred.
GENERAL DUTIES / EXPECTATIONS:
· Observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired concerning personal, financial, medical and employment status of patients at the hospital and their families.
· Maintain and develop nursing skills through participation in education programs.
· Flexible in meeting the needs of the patient, unit and/or facility.
· Reports to work at assigned time.
· Complete unit responsibilities in a timely manner.
· Maintain a clean and orderly environment of care
· Willingly assist other units when requested to do so.
· Complete annual competency requirements.
· Maintain open line of communication with nursing administration
· It is understood that the RN is willing and able to perform the duties of Patient Care Technician, and Unit Coordinator as needed.
· Willingly accept any other assigned duties within scope of care.
· Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
· Promote guest relations among patients and other staff members.
