• High school graduate or GED.

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Requires ability to read and write legibly and carry out directions promptly and accurately.
• Must have good organizational skills and be able to work effectively and efficiently.
• Must exhibit effective communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. It requires the ability to respond quickly and calmly during stressful or emergencies.

• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Current certification from Virginia or North Carolina as an EMT (or military equivalent, i.e.: Military Occupational Specialty-Medical Specialist MOS91B or 91W)
• or active, unrestricted Certified Nurses’ Aide (CNA) certification by the Virginia Board of Nursing required.
  

• Prior experience as an ED Tech, EMT or CNA in an Emergency Department setting or one year experience as a Clinical Associate at DRMC preferred.
