  • A hospital in California is looking for an experienced OT for a travel contract.
  • The right candidate will have 2 full years of experience, hold an active BLS and CA License.
  • They would be working solely in an outpatient clinic Monday - Friday, with the ability to do either 8hr or 10hr shifts.

  • Therapy Aides/Licensed Staff: (3) outpatient, (5) inpatient, (1) PTA OP, (2) inpatient PTA’s (1) COTA OP, (1) (PD) COTA, (2) OP OTR, (2) IP OTR (includes 1 OT (T), (5) PT’s (includes 2 T), (3) PD PT IP, (2) PD PT OP, ST (2) includes 1 Traveler
  • RT 24/7: yes
  • Pharmacy 24/7: yes
  • Shifts: 8 hours , but willing to consider 10 hours for PT travelers

  • We have an immediate need and availability to start ASAP
  • Unit: PT/OT/ST
  • # beds: 189 beds: ICU 20, telemetry 34, medical 5th floor 34, surgical 6th floor 34, and medical unit 7th floor 34, Mother and baby units 33 beds
  • Hospital census runs 150 on average.
  • Off-site outpatient center for all three disciplines (2.5 mile distance, 8 min drive/one way).
  • EMR: Cerner B (upgraded version)
  • Therapy Leaders: Therapies (1) lead inpatient therapist, (1) therapy supervisor, (1) Director of Rehab Services
  • Weekend Requirement: Have worked PT travelers on 10 hour schedules splitting the weekend W-S and Sun-W (has worked out well); OT, ST none and at 8 hour schedule
  • Holidays: none
  • Scrub Color: Burgundy polo or long sleeve shirt, black pants, and shoes
  • Floating: Yes , OT (IP/OP/HH), ST (primary OP required with geriatric and pediatric experience/ ideally Vital Stim as well, as needed IP to relieve IP or support IP ST, PT (inpatient acute hospital)
  • Floor specific orientation: General department orientation with skills checklist and assigned clinician
  • Common diagnosis / Types of patients: IP adult and geriatric population (orthopedic, neurological, medical, pulmonary complications), OP peds to geriatrics diverse patient population. OT hand therapy a big component, ST pediatrics is a big component
  • Additional Notes: JCAHO certification for Stroke (NIH certified), TJP (elective hips and knees), Early mobility program, vent early mobility level 2.
