Seeking an experienced Hematology/Oncology Locum Physician to provide inpatient coverage in the Minneapolis metro area. This role requires a physician to manage adult hematology/oncology patients, including chemotherapy administration, assessment of port integrity, and care for patients with vascular access devices (VAD/CV Catheters). The locum will be required to work weekends, with some overnight shifts included in the schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inpatient Care: Provide direct patient care for adult hematology and oncology patients in a hospital setting.
- Chemotherapy Administration: Administer chemotherapy treatments, including intrathecal chemotherapy.
- VAD/CV Catheter Management: Assess and manage VADs and CV catheters, including assessing port integrity.
- Call Coverage: Participate in call coverage from 5 pm to 8 am with a low volume of calls (average 1-2 calls per night).
- Documentation: Utilize the EPIC system for patient documentation.
- Weekend Shifts: Work weekend shifts as part of the 7-day per week schedule, including overnights.
Qualifications:
- Board Certification: ABMS Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology (required)
- State License: Must hold an active Minnesota medical license (required)
- BLS Certification: Must have current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
- Experience: Proven experience in hematology/oncology inpatient settings.
- Procedures: Expertise in the management of vascular access devices (VAD), central venous catheters (CV), and chemotherapy administration, including intrathecal chemotherapy.
