Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and enhance the research strategy, with a focus on building a robust Phase 1 and early phase clinical trials program.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify and establish key partnerships across Orlando Health, integrating research strengths to elevate the cancer service lines in both clinical care and research impact.

  • Establish and maintain an innovative research portfolio that drives clinical and translational research forward.
  • Coordinate with institutional leaders to support and advance clinical growth initiatives.
  • Foster collaborations that enhance cancer treatment and outcomes.
  • Dedicate 50% of your time to expanding the research portfolio and ensuring its alignment with the institute's goals.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • A collaborative and creative leader with a distinguished record in oncology research, including significant publications and funding achievements.
  • Proven experience in leading cancer research programs and advancing clinical and translational research agendas.
  • Expertise in managing clinical trials and experience in building or expanding programs within NCI-designated cancer centers.
  • A strong commitment to multidisciplinary, patient-centered care, and fostering a collaborative approach to cancer services.
  • Excellence in patient care and a demonstrated ability to build sustainable partnerships.
  • Personal and professional commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with experience in working within a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment.
  • Strong business and financial management skills, including budget management and revenue generation.
Reporting Structure This position reports directly to Dr. Rafael Manon, President of Orlando Health Cancer Institute. The appointee will provide services as assigned by the President in alignment with the institute's missions and goals in teaching, research, patient care, outreach, and public service.
