Oncology - Medical Oncology Physician at BAS Healthcare summary:

The Oncology - Medical Oncology Physician position involves providing specialized cancer care in a well-equipped hospital located along the Oregon coast. The role primarily focuses on outpatient services with occasional inpatient consults, collaborating with a team of healthcare professionals to deliver quality, evidence-based care. Physicians work four ten-hour shifts with a shared paid call schedule, while benefiting from a comprehensive compensation package and support services.

Location: Just minutes from Oregon beaches! About 2 hours to Eugene, OR and a little over 3 hours to Salem, OR! Located on the banks of the Pacific Ocean, it is the largest city on the Oregon Coast. It is a great place to live, work, and play!

Facility: Hospital offering a comprehensive range of diagnostic and therapeutic services. The hospital s inpatient and outpatient services include medical, surgical, pediatric, critical care, home health, outpatient and acute inpatient psychiatric, oncology, obstetrical, and other specialties.

Opportunity:
  • Full-time, Day shift
  • Four ten-hour shifts, no nights or weekends
  • Paid call shared equally
  • Primarily Outpatient with occasional Inpatient consults

  • Affiliated with Oregon Health & Sciences University, OHSU Knight Cancer Network Member
  • Services include radiation therapy, chemotherapy, medical oncology, cancer support services, clinical trials
  • New 19 chair infusion room, pharmacy in house, nurse navigation, radiation oncology & lab located in the center
  • High caliber, collegial, outstanding nurse infusion team
  • Functions as a member of the clinical patient care team performing tasks and procedures consistent with the training and licensure of an advanced practice provider.
  • Currently 1 NP Locum and 2 Oncologists in facility

  • PHYSICAL/MENTAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
    - Able to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently
    - Possess physical agility and adequate reaction time to respond quickly and appropriately to unexpected patient care needs
    - Needs adequate hearing and visual acuity, including adequate color vision
    - Requires fine motor skills, adequate eye-hand coordination, and ability to grasp and handle objects
    - Able to use proper body mechanics to assist patients in ambulating, transferring in and out of bed, chair or wheelchair
    - Must use standard precautions due to threat of exposure to blood and bodily fluids
    - Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone
