Job Details

We are seeking a Permanent Controller to join our team in the Manufacturing industry. This role is critical to our financial operations and requires a candidate with a strong background in cost accounting, GAAP, consolidation, and reconciliation. The ideal candidate will have the ability to lead financial operations, manage budgeting and forecasting, and ensure compliance with financial regulations. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

1. Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
2. Maintain internal control safeguards and coordinate all audit activities.
3. Manage cash flow and forecasting. Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
4. Optimize the handling of banking relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash positions.
5. Oversee budgeting and the implementation of budgets so as to monitor progress and present financial metrics both internally and externally.
6. Manage and track the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investment guidelines.
7. Lead the accounting department to ensure the precise and timely production of financial reports.
8. Conduct regular reconciliation and consolidation activities to maintain financial integrity.
9. Implement and manage cost accounting systems and strategies to support decision-making.
10. Collaborate with executive leadership to strategize on financial planning and forecasting.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or related field. A Master’s degree or CPA is highly desirable.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position, preferably in the Engineering industry.
3. Proven experience with cost accounting, GAAP, consolidation, and reconciliation.
4. Advanced knowledge of accounting and reporting software.
5. Exceptional leadership abilities with a history of successfully managing a team.
6. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail—ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
7. Working knowledge of short and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis.
8. Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
10. Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
