Role Overview:

The Director of Fiber/Pulp Production will oversee all aspects of fiber production, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance. This leadership role focuses on strategic planning, operational excellence, and aligning fiber operations with the company’s broader goals. The position requires a visionary leader with a commitment to continuous improvement and exceptional team management skills.


Key Responsibilities

· Manage all aspects of fiber production, focusing on safety, quality, productivity, and cost control.

· Lead and develop a high-performing fiber operations team through mentorship and professional development.

· Create and manage the annual budget for fiber operations, ensuring cost efficiency and financial accountability.

· Implement strategies to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and optimize processes.

· Collaborate with sales, distribution, and procurement teams to meet production and customer service goals.

· Drive initiatives that improve key performance indicators and operational efficiency.

· Oversee equipment operation, maintenance, and capital projects to support production goals.

· Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote sustainability initiatives.

· Develop training programs to enhance team expertise and skillsets.


Qualifications

· In-depth knowledge of fiber production processes, including de-inking, bleaching, and chemical applications.

· Proven leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.

· Strong time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

· Familiarity with internal KPIs and the ability to collaborate with purchasing and other departments effectively.

· Understanding of maintenance reliability principles and modern fiber technologies.

· Experience with Lean Six Sigma or similar process improvement methodologies is an asset.


Education and Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.

· At least 10 years of experience in the pulp and paper industry, with 5+ years in a leadership capacity.

· Hands-on experience with de-inking processes is highly desirable.

· Strong communication and collaborative skills, with a self-motivated and business-focused mindset.
